Jonathan bought a 1992 Ford Ranger for $1 about 15 years ago. He agreed at last to let it go – a donation to MPBN. I excavated the archeological layers today.

“Don’t just toss stuff. There’s valuable things in there,” he said.

Jonathan’s valuable things kind of make me love him more.

  • Bolts, screws, washers, ratchet set, staple gun, wrenches, screwdriver
  • Coil of rusty wire
  • 2 Pilot pens
  • Band-aids, large Vaseline adhesive gauze
  • 2 rusted ball-pump needles
  • baseball cap, rag, quilted flannel shirt
  • 2 blankets
  • umbrella
  • “Kitty Hawk” kite (bought with Sam on a 1997 family trip)
  • Ace bandage
  • Roll of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, N95 mask (score!)
  • brake/washer/power steering fluid; oil
  • sawzall and blades
  • 2 machetes (“That’s where they were! I searched everywhere.”)
  • sledge hammer, sledge head, mall head
  • pry bar
  • extendable dog leash
  • camp chair
  • Frisbee
  • 2 bicycle pumps
  • Maine gazetteer
  • 6 tennis balls
  • Wet bag of Golf balls/tees/pencils
  • 2 random arcade tokens
  • 3 coiled ropes
  • Frisbee
  • Roll of garbage bags (unused)
  • $20.05 (now mine)
  • $2 Canadian coin
  • cassette tape: “Religious Heroes in Gilgamesh and The Dawn of History” (Oh yeah; that was a good one.”)

Haha! I wonder what my car would say about me.... That's why I don't let my husband clean out my car. I know for sure I have too many cloth grocery bags, several thousand pairs of reading glasses, and 2 lampshades. Don't ask!
